Megan Shea is a senior Honors student with a double-major in Political Science and Psychology, and she was a Marketing & Communications Intern at Schools of the World during Summer ’25.

During this internship, she assisted in managing donor communications, creating digital marketing materials and editing promotional videos to support fundraising campaigns and community outreach. She also contributed to social media strategy and content creation to increase engagement and highlight program impact. Moreover, she worked with the communications team on newsletters and storytelling projects to strengthen donor relationships and expand the organization’s reach.
“It was definitely helpful that all the research I’d prepared for up to this point carried over. Many of my responsibilities involved researching the best fits—whether for candidates, locations, or other needs. Having strong research skills was really valuable. My communication skills from Suffolk also helped. I felt comfortable sending emails to potential donors, answering calls, and reaching out to people”
