Meet Casey Marcelin, Assistant Director of Your Career Community

With over six years in higher education and five years in healthcare, Casey Marcelin holds a BA in Business Administration and Management and is dedicated to helping students unlock their potential and achieve their goals. She believes networking and professional relationship management are key to launching and advancing one’s career. Casey has worked at Northeastern University, leading custom learning programs and developing educational products to help students build career skills. Her healthcare experience includes administrative roles at Massachusetts General Hospital and in patient-centered care advocacy. A Boston native, she enjoys running, reading, and practicing and teaching yoga.

  • Prepare to reflect on multiple clinical or community health sites you have shadowed, interned, or worked at (even if for a day!)
  • Discuss community and leadership roles you have held and how they equip you with key skills for healthcare
  • Identify different roles you may have held or observed at various sites and how you relate them to your strengths
  • Note 3-5 specific experiences you had or observed with patients or families for any “tell me about a time when…” questions
  • Use the S-T-A-R method to review what happened and what you learned from the nuances of care in different situations
  • Highlight relevant field technology experience or exposure (radiography, patient management software, etc.)
  • Acknowledge key certifications (CPR, etc.) or licenses you hold or will hold for the role
  • Familiarize yourself with Multiple-Mini-Interview approaches for certain graduate or doctoral applications
