The Ram Alumni Mentoring Program (RAMP) matches undergraduate and graduate students with a Suffolk alumni who will support with personal, academic, and professional success in a five-month one-to-one mentoring partnership.
Mentors can make all the difference in your career. They provide a trusted perspective, while offering seasoned advice on your career development, education, and life in general. RAMP can help you find yours.
Program Details
Students in every major and year in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Sawyer Business School, undergraduate and graduate, and alumni from any major or field may participate.
Interested mentors and mentees must submit a RAMP application by the program’s fall deadline. The short application asks questions related to:
- Your career interests and background
- Your Career Community preference (this information will be used in our mentor-mentee matching process)
- Your goals as a mentor or mentee entering the program
Applications for the 2025 – 2026 academic year must be received by October 27, 2025. The RAMP mentoring partnerships run from December 2, 2025, to May 1, 2026.
Mentors and mentees are required to complete a pre-recorded RAMP Orientation Session. This session will take place during the fall semester and can be completed virtually, on demand. An advisor will be available to provide in-person guidance if necessary.
You will receive an email from one of our Career Community advisors confirming your mentor-mentee pairing.
RAMP mentorships are designed to last until the end of the spring semester. This does not mean that the partnership must end, but it is a good opportunity to have a final meeting to discuss what you each gained from the partnership and what goals were met.
Mentors and mentees will also be asked to share their feedback twice: in the middle of and at the conclusion of the program. This information helps us further develop and expand the program for future RAMP cohorts.
Mentors and mentees are required to read the Mentor Guide [PDF] or Mentee Guide [PDF]. Participants are required to complete a pre-recorded RAMP Orientation Session. Alicia Kosasih, MA ’17
Interior Designer, SMMA
“The RAMP experience is more than just a mentor sharing career experience with a mentee. It’s more of an amazing two-way learning opportunity! I’ve learned so much from my mentee, Jennifer, about her academic background and how it helped her to pursue a degree in interior architecture. It was a pleasure to get to know her goals better and share some stories on navigating the professional architecture and design industry. I’m excited for the internship she is going to start this summer!”

Alfred Fosu, Class of 2025
Master of Science in Finance
“Participating in RAMP has been an invaluable experience. My mentor, Michael, managing director of Rockefeller Global Family Office, provided guidance, support, and encouragement every step of the way. Through regular meetings and open communication, I was able to gain valuable insights and navigate my career path. RAMP not only helped me achieve my goals; it also fostered a sense of community and connection. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a rewarding and enriching experience.”

Mike Dwyer
Founder, Emplana Career
“I feel like I was paired perfectly with my mentee, who is an amazingly capable, coachable joy to work with. I was able to expand his networking opportunities, and we are in the process of exploring internship possibilities. We met both in person and on Zoom and had great conversations. I learned from his perspectives, studies, activities, and South African background.”

Jillian Flynn, Class of 2024
Political Science Major
“Chatting with Kia allowed me to learn more about the day-to-day of someone in the field of law. It was great to chat through things with someone with experience while also getting their perspective. Additionally, they were also extremely helpful in providing guidance on steps I can take to learn more and grow. Overall, it was a great experience!”
